Practices

Fall and Winter practices are offered at Bldg 3828, the Aviation Schools Command Building aboard NAS Pensacola on Monday - Tuesday - Thursday - Friday.

Summer practices are held at Corry Station Pool on Mondays and Fridays during good weather and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the NAS indoor pool.

The number of practices per week is always up to the swimmers.

PNY has no mandatory number of practices. Our philosophy is that athletes train better when they want to be at practice. But since skill development, stroke proficiency, drill knowledge and test sets improve faster the more practices they attend, attendance at practice is one of the criteria used for group assignment.

Novice Swimmers train from 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm two to three times per week (M-Tu-Th-F).

Age Group Swimmers train from 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm two to three times per week (M-Tu-Th-F).

Junior Swimmers train from 5:15 pm - 7:00 pm three to four times per week (M-Tu-Th-F). This practice includes bodyweight strength work.

Varsity Swimmers train in the water from 5:00-7:00 pm (M-Tu-Th-F), and have core body strength training on Tuesdays and Fridays from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm.
Experienced age groupers may be invited to practice with this group on Tuesdays. Participation at this level is a privilege and consistent attendance for the full practice is expected.
